Where does this leave Star Citizen? Will CGI go down the so far very bumpy road of DX12? Or give Vulkan all its attention seeing how godly Doom is performing? Is just about programing skills or is Vulkan better than DX12? So whats going on here? Are the people over at ID godly at programing? Was it just a fluke? I mean Vulkan gave Nvida and AMD user a boost, more so for AMD but still a boost on both vendors. My Fury card gained 25-30% in 1440p going from OpenGL to Vulkan.Īnd Ashes of singulartiy now also gives more fps than DX11 (not at launch) Look at Battlefield 1, it performs worse on Dx12 even thou Dx12 was hyped by Dice.Īnother hyped API is Vulkan, released after Direcx12 and only has 3 games that support it.ĭoom is the most well optimized game I ever played. Mostly we saw less frames and frame stuttering instead of more fluid gameplay. So we had a few DX12 games released last year, but none of them showed any sort of major performance gain, not close to the hyped up numbers people were talking about before DX12 was released.
